Write out your own notes. Your notes should be neat and organized and they should make sense to you. Everybody is different. What makes sense to one particular person may not to someone else. Often by simply rephrasing something, or looking at it in a slightly different way it will make more sense to you, or be more memorable.
For example, page 12 of the formula booklet gives Simpson’s rule as
Some people might mind it easier to follow if it were rewritten as
Simpson’s Rule: Area ≈ h/3 [ First + Last + 2(Sum of rest of odds) + 4(Sum of evens)]
A similar approach can be taken with the Trapezoidal rule which appears on the same page, and which might be rewritten as Area≈h/ 2 [first + last + twice the rest].
