Galway Science and Technology Exhibition

Date: Sunday 25th November, 2012 10am – 6pm (last entry 5pm)

Venue: NUI Galway (The Bailey Allen Hall; The Orbsen Building; IT Building; Arts & Science Concourse; The Aula Maxima; Martin Ryan Institute; Engineering Building)
Time: 10am- 6pm (last entry at 5pm)
Free Parking:Ample parking available at the Corrib Village and a free shuttle bus to the Campus.
Refreshments:Smokey’s Restaurant & An Bhialann – Arts & Science Concourse; Moffett’s Restaurant – Orbsen Building; College Bar – beside the entrance to the Bailey Allen Hall; Coffee On Line – IT Building
Exhibition Stands by:

Local companies – Medtronic, Cisco, Boston Scientific, Avaya, Covidien, Creganna, SAP

Educational Bodies: NUI Galway, GMIT, Marine Institute

Local Primary and Secondary Schools:

During the Final Day Exhibition visitors can enjoy over 80 interactive stands representing areas including research, education, industry and the environment at the Bailey Allen Hall and Orbsen Building; take a tour of the new Engineering Building and visit the Zoology & Marine Biology Museum at NUI Galway, while 20 separate shows for families will take place in the IT Building, Aula Maxima and the Arts and Science Concourse buildings.  There will be a number of Volunteers who will direct visitors to shows and exhibits and there will be Park n Ride facility at Corrib Village, Newcastle with a shuttle bus to and from the University Campus.

Up to 20 primary and secondary schools will exhibit stands covering Life Science, Technology and Physics & Chemistry themes with the overall winning schools receiving a prize for most creative exhibits. Expect to be greeted by students lurking around exhibit areas in mad scientist costumes, wigs, facemasks or even dressed as bacteria.
